Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs by Jacob Grimm & Wilhelm Grimm, is a short fiction story. It explores the theme of Good versus evil, innocence, beauty, bravery, jealousy, vanity, and friendship.

Summary:

She is meant to represent good while the queen is meant to represent evil. A main message of this work is that good will always prevail over evil. The queen makes multiple attempts on Snow White’s life, and yet in the end, the queen is the one sentenced to death.

Message:

The message woven throughout it, often about important topics such as human nature, life, or society. It is deeper than the plot or summary and it can answer questions such as “What does it mean to be a family?” or “What are we afraid of?”.

 Symbolize:

  1. “Red as blood” represents life and vitality
  2. “White as snow” symbolizes purity and innocence
  3. “Black as ebony” signifies darkness and evil

Lesson:

  • It teaches is the danger of vanity. The evil queen wants Snow White dead because she cannot accept the fact she is not the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.
  • The other lesson is that real beauty comes from within.

Moral:

“Vanity will not take you far, but kindness will”
